With the exception of slight restyling inside and out and a few features being reshuffled throughout its trim level lineup, the 2022 Nissan Altima carries over unchanged. Last year's version saw changes with the availability of the Altima's turbocharged engine upgrade option, and some other alterations to specific trim levels. All told, the 2022 Nissan Altima continues as a well-equipped, subtly styled and highly useful midsized sedan that works perfectly for all kinds of travels around Fairfax and Northern Virginia.
Performance and Technology
Most Altima editions come with a strong yet thrifty 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which hums along to the tune of 188 horsepower with 180 pound-feet of torque. You'll also earn up to 39 mpg on the highway, a strong fuel economy rating for a car of this size and with its capabilities. It's with this engine setup that you can select the available AWD system as well if you want more traction and control. Of course you can also choose the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which produces 248 horsepower with 273 pound-feet of torque when using the recommended high-octane fuel.
On the tech front, the new 2022 Altima has several standard features. Infotainment controls with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth and more start you off, while you can add smartphone integration and other amenities.
